How stories are made

Our stories are generated by AI from a record of facts. Every story is labelled as substantially created by generative AI, at the top and end of the story page and wherever we show its summary. We send a story to a person before publication when our checks find an adverse claim, a named individual or public official, a listed company or a link to Matchai. Our checks can miss things. If you think we missed one, tell us at corrections@matchai.news. Other stories publish without a person reading them. Software compares each sentence with the documents listed, and it can miss errors. Customers have no say in what we cover, and they use the same corrections route as anyone else. When we know a story names a Matchai customer, partner or investor, we say so.

How we use sources

Stories report facts from documents. We do not publish opinions or forecasts. We hold ourselves to these rules.

• We write from original documents and credit the documents we rely on.
• News reports may point us to a document. They are not our evidence.
• We publish a claim only when a document we opened supports it. If you find one that does not, tell us.
• We list the documents we rely on, with the issuer and date.
• We do not reuse source headlines, photographs or passages.
• We keep quotes rare, short and attributed.
• We read public pages, and we do not bypass a paywall, login or bot block.
• Our crawler, [name], follows robots.txt rules addressed to it or to all crawlers. We also read [TDMRep and AI reservations].
• For news articles we keep the link, date, a hash and the facts used. For public records and official documents we may keep a private copy as evidence, for [period].
• We do not train AI models on source articles.

If you publish a source

To ask us to stop fetching your site, or to review a link, a fact or a story, write to publishers@matchai.news. We block the domain within [x] business days.

Corrections and replies

Use Flag an error on a story, or write to corrections@matchai.news. We aim to reply to correction requests within one day, every day of the week. When the record shows we were wrong, we correct the story as soon as that is confirmed and show what changed. We show a dated note when we correct a story, unless a law or privacy decision means the note must be limited. If a story names you, you can ask us to publish your reply. Right of reply and legal notices follow the deadlines of the country concerned.

Images and data

Most stories carry our own map or chart. Some do not, for example where a map could point to a private home. We use our own maps and charts, open aerial images and photos we have permission or a licence to use. We do not use AI to make images of real places, people or events. If you think an image breaks this, tell us. An AI illustration is used for an abstract idea, and it is labelled on the image and in its caption. We do not show a recognisable private person as the subject of an image without consent or a clear public reason. If you own an image and object, write to publishers@matchai.news. We review image complaints within [x] and may take an image down while we check.

Stories are news. They are not investment, financial, legal or real estate advice.

Your membership

Your first 30 days are free. After that it is US$10 a month until you cancel, or US$100 for a year that ends unless you renew, plus tax. Polar, our merchant of record, is the seller. We email you on day 10 and 7 days before your trial ends, and before a year ends. Cancel from the link at the bottom of every page. We refund any charge in full if you ask within 7 days, your first charge within 14 days, and the unused part of a year at any time. Membership is not available to residents of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, or in markets we have not opened.

Your privacy

We collect what we need to send the letter and run your membership. Information gathered for reporting is kept apart from Matchai's contact, lead and profile features and is not used for sales. We do not name private buyers, sellers, tenants or owners, or link a person's name to a home address. If we do, tell us and we will act. If a story names you, the Privacy notice explains your options.
